Simple Pendulum Period

A simple pendulum consists of a mass attached to a string of length L, swinging back and forth under the influence of gravity. Interestingly, the period of a pendulum does not depend on its mass, only on its length and the local acceleration due to gravity.

T = 2π × √(L / g)
  • T (Period): The time it takes for one complete oscillation (seconds).
  • L (Length): The length of the pendulum (meters).
  • g (Gravity): The acceleration due to gravity (Standard is 9.80665 m/s²).
